A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. . .
 

The droid wars may be over but they still
Made a lasting impact on the Republic.
Although they are recovering from the war
There is not a lot of resources left for all the planets
In the known galaxy that they so desperately need,
So they now must  venture out into the "unknown"
Regions in the hope to find those resources.
The Republic has sent out Diko Rendar, A Jedi Master
And a Republic Diplomat,  on a diplomatic mission
To the Rakar System, on the very outer rim of the Galaxy.
But this mission turns out to be more than just a diplomatic one.
 
 

     "We Have Arrived Captain Rendar" said A Republic Officer, "You may start your landing now". The sounds of the engines coming to a full halt were heard and the landing gear was deployed. Diko Rendar stepped down on the Sandish soil of Rakar. Rakar was very similar to Tatioone on the east side of the planet and to Coruscant on the west side. Diko turned his head and shouted " Hurry up,  the transport will be here any minute now". Diko looked off into the distance and saw the transport headed his way and ran back to the ship and shouted for Ricky and Dash to hurry up, They did has they were told. Rick and Dash where two brothers from Chandrilla and were both Jedi in training under Diko. The Transport stopped in front of them and they boarded it; then left for the Supreme Council
     "Do you think we will succeed Diko?" asked Ricky.
     " I don't know if we will Ricky,  but as you know we need their resources," replied Diko as the transport was nearing the landing at the bustling center of the planet,  where the council was located.  Looking out the side viewport,  the Jedi Master, could see the growing masses surrounding the landing area where the expedition transport shuttles were docked.  It was an awe inspiring and humbling sight and each of the three held deep inside the inner demons that all hoped would remain hidden.  It was a long way from their homes in more ways than just distance.  Some believed that crossing beyond the borders would be like journeying back into time itself
      Diko walked into the senate and took his seat and began what he was sent out to do, which was to diplomize Rakar and gain its support, so the Republic could maximize it's resources to help them. After a long discussion, the meeting ended and Diko was asked to stay in a suite at the council. Diko,  very tired, sat on his bed and faded away into a sleep. NO! NO! NO! Don't do it. Think about...., Diko was seeing a image of himself talking to a guy who was holding some sort of a device.  Ricky and Dash was lying dead on the floor and there was a young man standing beside them. Diko awoke in a cold sweat and thought about the dream. Diko now felt a very big disturbance in the force. He knew he had saw the future in his dream.  Diko fell back into his bed and went back to sleep

     The sounds of people chattering woke Diko up from his sleep. Diko put on his clothes and left for the council again. Once Diko got there,  he was shocked to find out that the council was not open due to a an urgent calling. Diko was shocked but glad at the same time. Now he could find out what his dream meant.  Diko left for the center of town in search of the man that was standing next to him in his dream.
     After hours of searching with no luck,  Diko, tired from his day's work,  sat on a large hill over- looking the city. "It's beautiful isn't it?" Startled by the voice, Diko turned his head and standing in front of him was the man from his dream. Diko stood up and looked at the man. He could feel that this stranger  was very strong in the force,  like the legend of Luke Skywalker. " Why are you looking at me like that?" asked the stranger.
     " Do you have a name?" Diko asked.
     " The name is Akira Kolls, what's yours?"
     "Diko.....Diko Rendar."
     " Yeah,  I have heard of you. You are from the Republic. You are here on a diplomatic mission." said Akira.
     Diko couldn't help but stare at the young man,  How could this young man be so strong in the force? Then a thought came to Diko, Maybe I can train this Man into a Jedi.  The republic could really use his help.
     "Oh My God, they're here" Akira Cried.
     " Who is here?" Diko asked.
     " The Kai. A race of deformed humans and droids. They are this planet's sworn enemy.  We have always fought with them.  I thought that we had signed a treaty to stop this fighting,  but I guess that has been  broken."
     Diko had never heard of them, but he could sense that they had evil intentions.
     "They are attacking, Diko,  we have to save the people of my planet, before they are wiped out." Akira cried
      Akira and Diko made it to the city.  They could hear the sound of  blasters firing and people screaming. Akira looked around.  He saw a women being beaten and he raced over and grabbed the assailant and threw him. The Kai Member reached for his blaster.  Akira stood in fear. He didn't have a weapon. The droid  blew up and when the smoke cleared there was Diko, with a lightsaber in hand.
     "Look to our right" Diko shouted at Akira. About 5 Kai members raced toward them. Diko ran toward them, flipped over them, turned and swung his light saber, cutting the Kai members in half.
     "They are entering the Senate, and I think I know why they are here" Akira said to Diko, "Come on we have to get there."

"WHERE IS IT, I WANT IT NOW! "
" I MUST HAVE IT "
     The shouting came from the leader of the Kai, Dural-Kento, a being who was  half human and half droid.
     "Did you find it? It has to be around here somewhere." Dural shouted.
     "My lord we have found it" said a Kai Member.
     "Good, give it to me". Dural took the crystal and held it up high. It shimmered in the light. Dural then set the crystal on the table next to him. Suddenly the door opened and Akira and Diko rushed in.
     "Get them" Dural shouted at his men. Two of Dural's men raced to Akira.  Akira ran up and jump- kicked one,  then turned around and hit the other one with his fist. Diko raced to the other men who in turn raced to him.  Diko attacked with his lightsaber, easily disposing of the men. Akira and Diko turned to Dural.
     "Stop right where you are" Dural shouted at them. Dural took the crystal and held it in front of them. Akira knew what the crystal was and what Dural wanted to do with it.
     "That is the crystal of time. The user can send himself back in time. We can't allow him to use it."  Akira said to Diko.
     "He is not going to do anything with it, if he is defeated" Diko replied to Akira.
     "Don't go any further Diko" Dural said to Diko. Diko stood in shock. How could he know his name? After all,  this was his first time to this planet. "Don't you remember me Diko?" Dural took of his mask. Diko did remember him.
     "Matthew! I thought you were.....dead" Diko said.
     "I'm surprised you remember my name. Yes our home planet's hero,  back from the dead. But I never died. Cause,  you see,  after the battle, I was deformed so, that our people couldn't even stand the sight of me.  AFTER I SAVED THEM! So They put me on a shuttle to anywhere.....anywhere but there. My ship crash landed on this planet. You know,  I thought you would tell them no, that it was wrong. But you didn't. And I never forgot that Diko.  I see you have moved up in the world...Republic diplomat.  Well after they put me on that shuttle and I crash landed on this planet, I made friends with the Kai Race and eventually took control of the Kai.  And when I did,  I changed my name to Dural-Kento.  They wanted my skills in war and,  in return,  I wanted this". Dural fingered  the Time Crystal.
     Diko knew what Dural wanted to do with the Time Crystal and Diko was not going to allow it.
     "Do you understand now Diko?  I'm going back to change history.  I'm gong to stop myself from saving our planet and while I'm at it, I should just change history entirely.  You know I always did like the way the Empire thought." Dural laughed.
     Just then door opened and in rushed Dash and Ricky.  The two Jedi trainees, immediately,  went in for the kill. Just then Diko remembered his dream. "No, Stop! This is between me and Dural, you three make sure every thing is in order outside." Diko said to the boys. Akira, Ricky, and Dash agreed and left the room. Diko pulled out his lightsaber and put it into attack postion.  Dural did the same. Dural attacked,  Diko blocked. Diko could sense the anger in him. He might lose this battle. The sabers clashed again,  and again Diko could sense Dural's anger. Dural wanted to end this battle quickly and went in for the kill, but it was too late to realize his mistake. Diko swung his lightsaber, knocking Dural's lightsaber onto the floor.  Dural raced to retrieve it,  but Diko was quicker and got it and raised both of the lightsabers and pointed them to Dural. " You are defeated Dural,  give it up" Diko shouted.
     Dural then grabbed the time crystal.  "I'm not defeated as long has I have this,"Dural laughed.  The crystal began to light up, it was activating.  Diko looked at Dural who was laughing.  Diko thought to himself  how he could stop this.  He suddenly remembered what Wihl-Gon said to him, There is a way to destroy the crystal; aim for the middle opening. Diko threw his lightsaber at the crystal . The crystal exploded, knocking Diko out of the room.

     Diko awoke and opened his eyes and saw Akira beside him. "You're awake" Akira said.
     "Huh, What happened?" Diko asked.
     "There was a large explosion and we ran back into the building and saw you on the floor unconscious, but  there was no sign of Dural" Akira replied.
     The door opened and Wihl- Gon entered. "Thank you Diko, Even though our crystal has been destroyed, with it went Dural.  We support the Republic.  Your ship is waiting for you to return to Coruscant."  Diko smiled.
     "Engines are okay, everything is okay. Let's get back to Coruscant." Dash said.
     "Well everything is okay except for Diko, he isn't here yet." said Ricky.
     Just then the door to the ship opened and in walked Diko. And to the surprise of Ricky and Dash was Akira behind him. "Akira is coming with is back to Coruscant, I am going to train him to become a Jedi" Diko said to Ricky and Dash. The engines began to roar and the ship took off.
